The house is bright and spacious, furnished and equipped to luxury standards. The lounge and dining rooms open by French doors onto a terraced veranda with stunning views over a wooded valley to ridges along the River Wye- great for sundowners! On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, one with en-suite, the others with hand wash basins, family bathroom and an additional toilet.

Surrounded by lawns, shrubs and trees, quiet privacy is assured yet a gentle 100 yards stroll takes you to the heart of the village with its famous and historic 12Th century All Saints Church – the Cathedral of the Forest’ – medieval Alms Houses and the award winning, foodie pub, The Ostrich.

Positioned ideally for the vast range of Forest attractions, scenery and activities, there is a wealth of wildlife in woods and field, in the waters of the River Wye and in the air. Amazing sights (and little sound) are in profusion for walkers, riders and cyclists.

How to get there...


  • Smoking and, for the comfort of other visitors, very highly spiced cooking is not permitted in Sycamore House
  • Pets. Well-behaved pets are welcome but please restrict to the ground floor
  • Public transport. This is minimal through Newland village - about 2 buses each day!
  • Shopping. Coleford town, 2 miles away, has supermarkets, good butchers, baker and a range of other shops - with a cinema too. Monmouth, about 7 miles away, is much larger with a wider choice of shops and facilities.

From North and West head for Monmouth (A40) . Turn left at traffic lights, over the bridge, mini roundabout follow Chepstow signs to Redbrook Village (3 Miles). Turn left signed Newland/Clearwell.

From East and South head for Chepstow (M4-M48). Take Wye Valley Road
to reach Redbrook Village (17 miles). Turn right for Newland/ Clearwell.

Go through Newland Village centre, after left bend Sycamore House is on the left.
